“This beautiful musical Beltane evening features Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer sowing their soulful and profoundly timeless musical tapestries inside the ancient Druid church of St Nicholas, the oldest spiritual temple in Brighton. These internationally renowned musicians weave together delicate soul-filled flute melodies, extraordinary deep earth songs and powerful tribal dance rhythms to honour the raw power and beauty, hidden spirit and ancient memory of the deep ancestral land. They perform on ancient and handcrafted instruments that include wooden, clay and bone flutes, traditional whistles, small pipes, Slovakian fujara, plus stag, horse, reindeer and salmon drums. Carolyn and Nigel give concerts throughout the world including USA, Japan, Russia, the Arctic, Europe and Central America.
They will be supported by two of 2010′s top upcoming new wave acts, of Shrinari, featuring the mesmerising vocals of Brighton based Lucidia Omamori, and Anima, a hauntingly melodic duo inspired by the ancient and indigenous ways’, who call us to remember”.
“The Light Has Dawned is likely to be one of the most memorable and poignant musical journeys of the year”.
